About
June’s Corner Garden is a small market garden located on Sauvie Island, a few miles NW of Portland, Oregon. I grow a variety of fruits and vegetables that I deliver weekly to offices downtown and homes in North Portland (the Beach School neighborhood). I take a holistic approach to growing produce, using natural, sustainable methods that encourage the health of the whole ecosystem, from soil to humans.
The garden was named after June, my husband’s grandmother, who used to own this property and for more than fifty years lived in the house across the street from our corner lot.
The purpose of this blog is to let customers, or anyone else who is interested, know what is happening in the garden and to talk about things related to food, farming and, occasionally, family.

Hello neighbors! What a fantastic garden you have going there. The veggies look delicious. Chickens, too! Wish we still lived next door so we could be your best customers. Bob and I are in Alaska. We are renovating a small cabin on Kachemak Bay. It is supposed to be our summer place after Bob retires but I have a feeling that won’t be any time soon. He’s working in Anchorage three days a week. The cabin is in Homer so he flies down to work here two days and spend the rest of the week with me. I’m heading back to Arizona before winter sets in. We’ve had a very wet summer and I’m looking forward to seeing the sun again. I added my blog address in the Website field so you can see our place. Best of luck with your garden business! I hope to start a small veggie garden next summer. I am very curious about your hoop house. They are being introduced to the gardening community in Homer to help extend the season. We have a nice farmer’s market but the weather has been so bad the farmers complain nothing is growing! And to think it is almost the end of summer with this month. It’s a different world up here. Love your blog. We’ll be following the adventure!
